IS MY CHICK EGG GOING TO HATCH OR NOT?? URGENT?

Hi, are chick was due to hatch today but did not. We candled it at about 3 days and there was a small spot. On a website they said it meant it was fertile! Now lets forward to day 21. The black spot got bigger over time. It has stopped growing this last week. There is no movement in the egg at all. Should we keep it for a few more days or bin it. It is a maran cuckoo egg. Does a large black spot a bad sign please tell me. It is a very thick dark brown shell. And is difficult to see through. But there is absolutely no movement. We do not know what to do. And waiting 21 days was death!

If it was to hatch at 21 days, and you candled it, there should have been NO LIGHT coming through..the egg should be all black, dark, because it would be filled with the chicks body. You should see the air sack at the top of the egg, inside, has broken. If the egg is not solid dark, it is likely that the chick died early on, and when you open it, it wil be rotted. Sorry, but no, the black "spot" you are seening at his stage is NOT a good sign.
