Help with antique Colonial Mfg. grandfather clock. I'm told late 1800's - 1910 for age.?
Hi. I picked up an antique grandfather clock at an auction this weekend. It did not have the weights and pendulum nor the key. There was a small block of granite that was being used as a weight at the bottom of the case. This leaves me to believe that maybe it would work if I had the proper replacement parts. How do I know what materials I need? I'm not really interested in contacting a clock person at this point. I just want to get the proper materials and see for myself if it works. It is very gothic looking and is by Colonial Mfg. Zeeland Michigan. There is an instruction card that says for Movements Nos. 38, 39, 61, 68, 82, 88. Although it talks of how to hang the weights and pendulum it does not give any information about their replacement. If anyone can tell me about this clock or give me any information at all on what I need for parts I'd really appreciate it. I can supply pictures if necessary. Thanks!
