Early inside the 17th Century numerous years just before clocks were being carved in the Black Forest, Philipp Hainhofer (21 July 1578 - 1647)a merchant, banker, diplomat and art collector in Augsburg, wrote about a cuckoo clock which was owned by Prince Elector August von Sachsen. This will be the first identified description of a Cuckoo Clock. At that time Europe was inside the middle of a weather phenomenon known as the "Little Ice Age" which brought incredibly cold temperatures inside the winter. Athanasius Kircher was a 17th century German Jesuit scholar (1650). In his handbook on music Athanasiius described a mechanical organ that had several automated figures such as a mechanical cuckoo. This book, was the very first to document in words and pictures the mechanical workings of the cuckoo clock. It goes on to describe how the mechanical cuckoo can automatically open it is beak even though at the identical time the cuckoo can move both the wings and the tail. As the beak opens and closes 1 hears the call of the cuckoo. Inside the clock are two organ pipes which are responsible for making the call of the cuckoo. "Time is gold" as the saying goes and so are clocks like the Ships Bell Clock you can see on this page. The value of time imprinted on the clocks produced.
Domenico Martinelli an ordained preist (1669) was the author of a book on elementary clock which bore the title "Horologi Elementari". In this book Domenico advocates using the call of the cuckoo to designate the hours. At that time the mechanics of a working cuckoo clock was already known, and any clockmaker who could also ready would fully grasp that it was both practical and advantageous to have the cuckoo sound off the hours. Consequently cuckoo clocks began appearing in areas that had not previously been recognized for their clock making. It could be some a lot more decades just before Cuckoo Clocks began appearing in the Black Forest.

Is this graphics card any good?
I got a Palti GeForce 9800GT the other day for £50. its got 512MB memory, 600MHz core clock (I overclocked to 625MHz using NVIDIA's in-build overclock system). is this any good?
also there are options to change FSB clock on the NVIDIA control pPanelas well as RAM etc. I only have a standard factory shipped Packard Bell motherboard, is it safe to change the clock speeds of these on my motherboard if all this makes sense? im running on a 700W PSU.
thanks for answers
Do not listen to hemppy, he knows fuck all about pc's
you cannot mix a 4870 with a 9800gt unless you have an SLI/crossfire certified motherboard, and then when you do, you cannot use them both at the same time, you can only use the 4870 with the 9800gt as a physx card, which is a useless idea unless you're gonna play either Mafia 2 or Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Now for my answer.
Depending on the resolution you're playing at and the games you are playing would determine if this card is any good for you, if it's cod 4 then it won't be a problem though by todays standards that card is really out of date. You could overclock the shit out of it but you won't get much fps increase.
Unless you know what you are doing in the BIOS then i wouldn't overclock your RAM or CPU, whenever you overclock something you'll need to stress/stability test it with:
Prime95 - for CPU
Furmark - for GPU
The very first Black Forest Cuckoo Clocks: It is not known who built the first cuckoo clocks in the Black Forest, but is is identified that this fascinating and appealing clock speedily circumvented the realm. Among the earliest recognized Cuckoo Clock makers was Franz Anton Ketterer (1676-1749) whose heritage is in the Sch?nwald in Schwarzwald. By the mid eighteenth century a number of clock makers had set up shops and had been producing cuckoo clocks that worked with the aid of wooden plates and gears. The clocks were beautifully carved and decorated with hand painted shields. The very first Cuckoo Clocks had been quite basic having only square faces and painted with water colors. As the clocks evolved and grew much more refined in their designs, they had been also embellished with animated birds who flapped their wings and moved their beaks. There are lots of conflicting stories and legends which tell the story of the origins of the Cuckoo Clock inside the Black Forest, but none of the stories may be verified. We also need to keep in mind that the concept of placing a cuckoo bird in a clock complete with sound and movement did not originate in the Black Forest. Nevertheless it really is the people today of the Black Forest who developed in business, and improved on the technologies and designs which have created Black Forest Cuckoo Clocks highly desired timepieces all over the world. "Time is gold" as the saying goes and so are clocks like the Ships Bell Clock you might see on this page. The value of time imprinted on the clocks produced.
At the end of the eighteenth century and up to the middle of the nineteenth century Cuckoo Clocks essentially consisted of a a flat wooden face with the workings of the clock attached behind the face. On best of the face of the clock was location a semi circular piece of wood which was adorned with stunning designs and which housed the cuckoo bird. During the cold winter nights the clock makers would function generating their beautiful extremely decorated clocks. Within the Spring the clocks were then sold by door to door by clock peddlers who carried the Cuckoo Clocks by means of a rack which was carried on their backs. Entire families would function in their cottages creating the Cuckoo Clocks and every family member had the expertise of generating certain pieces of the clock which was then assembled by however a further loved ones member. Styles of Cuckoo Clocks: There are many styles of Cuckoo Clocks, essentially the most familiar becoming the Swiss Chalet Style which evolved around the end of the nineteenth century. Probably the most basic type of Cuckoo Clock is the One Day Cuckoo Clock which wants to be wound one time each day. Next there's the Eight Day Cuckoo Clock which requirements to be wound only 1 time per week. Each of these clocks has a musical version along with the addition of a Swiss music box. Animated figures now are added such as a man sawing wood, men drinking beer and even a water wheel turning. Themes of the Cuckoo Clock contain deer heads, dead and live animals, leaves and birds. Later versions now contain a Quartz Cuckoo Clock which does not need to be wound and which has the recorded sound of an actual Cuckoo. The production center of the Cuckoo Clock is still the Black Forest of Germany, and also the Cuckoo Clock is still a favorite of the tourist visiting there. Could stories including such as those for youngsters have been written about Cuckoo Clocks and like the Cuckoo Clocks themselves they remain popular to this day.
