The Black Forest ("Der Schwarzwald") in southwestern Germany will be the house of the Cuckoo Clock (Kuckucksuhr), invented in the region within the 17th century. The long, harsh winters inside the Schwarzwald during that time meant people spent long hours inside their homes, when they needed both something to do to pass the time and an further source of income to supplement their function in the nearby mines. The largely forested location surrounding them inspired them to start producing wooden crafts. Amongst the goods they developed were nutcrackers ("Nussknackers"), incense burners ("Smoking Men" or R?ucherm?nner), and clocks that mimicked the cry of the cuckoo bird.
Cuckoo Clocks: A Brief History; Until the early 1600's, time telling devises in Germany consisted of sundials and hourglasses. All of that changed in 1630, when a man named Franz Kettler from Triberg, Germany went to what's now the Czech Republic, and brought back the concept of a clock. It was a uncomplicated style, called a wooden beam clock, and had wooden gears and stones as weights. Soon, clock producing became a source of pride, and provided occupation in the course of winter months. A special group called the Hauslers developed. These men were the younger sons of land owners, and utilised clock creating as an extra source of income.

Black Lab?
I have a black lab thats tail has gone almost limp. Today she was wagging her tail as she always does but it was beating against a wall. She did not yelp or anything like that, but it now biting it and almost favoring her tail. She lets me look at it, and I do not see any lice, flees or anything of the sort. She still waggs it but it is low towards the ground, not high like a normal wagg. If you guys have any thoughts or anything like that please let me know. The reason i havnt taken her to the vet yet is because we are 900 miles away from home, and it is about 10 o clock at night so no place is open. Thanks for anything you have to offer.
I would keep an eye on her overnight as best you can and take her to the vet tomorrow if you are still concerned. It doesn't sound like she broke it, she probably would be extremely sensitive and yelp when you manipulated it. She might not even be able to move/feel it at all. Just leave her alone and let her rest this evening.
No telling what she's done. She will probably be just fine but contact a vet if you are still unsure.
Best of luck with your girl!
